(March 15, 2024) – To accommodate growth in its statewide slate of PACE programs, EveryAge has promoted Harriet Forney to Director of Quality and Compliance for all EveryAge PACE programs. This expanded role will allow EveryAge to capitalize on the strengths of its PACE organizations and to enhance the care delivered to its participants. Presently, EveryAge operates Carolina SeniorCare in Lexington, NC, and Elderhaus in Wilmington, NC. Carolina SeniorCare-East in New Bern, NC, is currently under construction and is expected to open later this year.
PACE, or the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, is a provider-based health plan that supports participants in gaining access to the services they need without moving from their home. PACE programs provide comprehensive medical, preventative, and social services. Participants must be 55 and older and live in a service area defined by designated zip codes. PACE is supported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS).
Prior to her promotion, Forney served as the Quality Compliance Manager for Elderhaus. In September, she earned her Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) certification through the HCCA (Health Care Compliance Association). The knowledge she gained of laws, statutes, and information as they support the building and maintenance of compliance programs will be essential in helping her mitigate compliance-related risks at all EveryAge PACE locations.
In the near term, Forney will continue to coordinate Elderhaus’s efforts before shifting her responsibilities to provide oversight of both Elderhaus and Carolina SeniorCare’s compliance and quality programs. She will also manage quality and compliance for Carolina SeniorCare-East in New Bern when it opens, as well as for all future PACE developments. Forney’s expanded role complements the growth and development of all EveryAge PACE organizations.
As Director of Quality and Compliance, Forney will work in close collaboration with Ruth Finch, Executive Director of Elderhaus; Ashley Young, Executive Director of Carolina SeniorCare; Dr. David Roddy, Medical Director for Elderhaus and Carolina SeniorCare; and Michelle Roseman, Chief Quality and Compliance Officer at EveryAge. She will continue to be based in Wilmington and will visit Lexington and New Bern regularly.
